Romanian contemporary art magazine Revista ARTA has announced East Art Mags, a programme of residencies for young art critics in eastern Europe.

Launching this month, East Art Mags sees Revista ARTA collaborate with partner magazines Artalk.cz (Czech Republic), Artportal.hu (Hungary) and Szum (Poland) to offer young art critics the chance to get to know another of the region’s art scenes, with a wider aim of building meaningful relationships between young artists, writers and curators.

This year, eight Romanian critics will travel to the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland to explore local art scenes under the guidance of the editors at Revista ARTA‘s partner magazines, while Revista ARTA will receive two writers from each partner magazine.

This month, Ada Muntean (Cluj, Romania) is travelling to Prague, Ioana Păun (Bucharest, Romania) will be journeying to Budapest, while Karolina Plinta (Warsaw, Poland) is visiting Bucharest for the first time.

Each participant will record their experience through reviews, diaries, interviews, essays or presentations.

You can follow the participants’ experiences throughout the project on Revista ARTA, and find out more about the project here.
