An imperfect ceramics brand from Moscow

89 degrees is owned by Aleksandra Polidovets, an architecture student and ceramics enthusiast from Belarus.

The name of the brand references a 90º right angle, but slightly off by one degree and, therefore, imperfect. This is echoed in the brand’s philosophy, which materialises in the irregular shapes and crooked lines of its cups, plates, bowls and pomegranate-shaped vases. Everything is handmade and painted, and some items are one-offs.

Right now the only way to buy the ceramics is in person, at certain craft markets and stores in Moscow and, occasionally, Minsk. Take note and request souvenirs from your Moscow-visiting friends, as the prices are affordable: a set of cup with a saucer goes for 1500 roubles ($26).
