After travelling to Russia for the first time in 1997, British photographer Will Webster now divides his time between Cambridge and Moscow. His work has appeared in a range of international titles, from a story on Kamchatka for Monocle to the renovation of the Bolshoi Theatre for The Wall Street Journal. In a photo story published on The Calvert Journal, Webster created portraits of shoppers at Gorbushka electronics market in 2006, capturing Russia’s growing culture of consumerism.
