In a flash: Moscow’s party people caught on camera

Share on LinkedIn Share via Email
Photographers Alena Chendler and Aleksei Kalabin are a regular fixture on Moscow’s party scene. From a magazine launch party to a celebrity lecture, the photographing power couple are a fixture, snapping the city’s creative elite. All images are taken using a Fuji Instax, a self-developing camera similar to a Polaroid, before being posted on their blog, Central Park Mag, which they set up in 2012. The result is a unique snapshot of the city at play, with cameo appearances from visiting international figures like Michel Gondry, Manolo Blahnik and Marina Abramovic. “Our blog is about people who are the faces of Moscow, who surprise, inspire and transform the city with what they do,” say Chendler and Kalabin. “They are the heart of Moscow.”
