Ukrainian designer blurs lines between classical paintings and real life

27 January 2017

Ukrainian designer Alexey Kondakov is no stranger to collaging and Photoshop — his creations depict characters from classical paintings within photos of contemporary life.

The new collection of collages imagines figures from Renaissance paintings in modern Naples. The images, which have been shown in an exhibition in Naples, feature staples of everyday life in an Italian town: laundry lines, small cafes and cigarette stands.

The designer’s work has gone viral before — take a look at his project from 2015 that saw him imagine gods and heroes in Kiev’s metro and suburbs as a part of The Daily Life of Gods series.
