New train launched between Moscow and Berlin

On Saturday Russian Railways launched “Strizh” (Swift), a new (much swifter) train service between Moscow and Berlin.

Running twice a week, the train cuts the journey time from around 25 hours to just over 20. This is thanks to the high-tech train being able to automatically move between Russian and European railways, which use different sizes of track gauge.

The train stops in Smolensk, Orsha, Minsk, Brest, Terespol, Warsaw, Poznań, Rzepin, and Frankfurt an der Oder.

A one-way ticket will set you back between 169 and 667 euros ($176–$695).
