Lanterns light up the sky in Zagreb

Take a look at the enchanting lantern ceremony that has become a Zagreb Christmas tradition.

Saturday evening saw hundreds of people gather in front of the National Library in the Croatian capital to launch lanterns, with each one meant to represent Christmas wishes and hopes for the coming year.

Now in its ninth year, the lantern ceremony is a charity event. This year’s donations are going to Mogu Sve, an organisation that works towards increasing opportunities for disabled people in Croatian society.
