Visit the Cambridge Festival of Ukrainian Film this weekend

The Ninth Cambridge Festival of Ukrainian Film takes place this weekend, showcasing four contemporary and classic films.

Cambridge Ukrainian Studies will present a selection of Ukrainian documentaries, as well as two newly-restored Soviet Ukrainian thrillers, in Ukrainian and Russian with English subtitles.

Friday night will see screenings of Olena Moskalchuk and Dmytro Burko’s 2015 short documentary Has-Beens and Hollywood on the Dnipro: Dreams from Atlantis (2014), directed by Oleh Chornyi and followed by a Q&A with the film’s screenwriter Stanislav Tsalyk.

Saturday’s audience will be able to view Ukrainian thrillers Two Days (1927, dir. Heorhii Stabovyi) and The Night Сoachman (1928, dir. Heorhii Tasin).

The screenings will be followed by wine receptions.

The Ninth Cambridge Festival of Ukrainian Film will take place from 15 – 16 November at the Winstanley Theatre, Trinity College. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Tickets can be booked here.
