Tallinn to get film production complex by 2018

11 October 2016

Tallinn Film Wonderland sounds like an enchanting and somewhat magical place. It’s no fairytale, however — this is the name filmmakers hope to give to the upcoming film industry hub in the Estonian capital.

Set to open in 2019 in Tallinn’s Kopli district, Tallinn Film Wonderland will aim to boost the export of film services and attract more foreign production teams to Estonia. According to CEO Liina Maria Lepik, an increase in studio capacity will enable Estonian production companies to offer their services to foreign customers, responding to an increased interest in the region from international filmmakers.

Ms Lepik adds that the film production hub will bolster the success of a new state initiative supporting foreign production in Estonia through offering studio opportunities.
