Star Wars fans from Russia’s Sakha region, located in the Russian Far East, are set to translate the movie saga into their native Yakut language.

According to one of the project’s organisers, Giorgy Antipin, the team hopes to receive permission from Disney for the translation in the near future. He says that the translation will retain the style of the original, while being clear in meaning for speakers of Yakut.

Five actors have already been found to voice the main characters, while the team are currently casting for the supporting roles. They hope to release the Yakut version of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, which they are working on right now, this December.
