Have you seen Semyon, Russia’s theatre star cat?

21 September 2016

If you’re in Moscow keep your eyes peeled for Semyon, a “stunningly handsome” theatrical feline from Perm who has gone missing in the Russian capital.

Semyon had travelled to Moscow to star in a tour with the U Mosta theatre from the city of Perm, but escaped from his basket at Moscow’s Yaroslavsky railway station.

“Terrible news! Our talented artist and audience favourite Semyon has vanished in mysterious circumstances — or has he defected to our rivals?” the theatre group posted on its Facebook page, noting the black and white cat’s “remarkable magnetism”.

One commenter joked that Semyon’s “artistic temperament” has driven him to drink after enjoying a few too many on the long train journey from Perm, while another has proposed looking for him in a chic part of town, where the moggy is surely to be found spending time with a Muscovite lady friend.

Semyon is due to go on stage tomorrow — if you see him, get in touch with U Mosta!

The show must go on…
