SLOVO Russian Literature Festival opens on Friday in London

The seventh edition of the SLOVO Russian Literature Festival opens on Friday 15 April in London.
Organised by independent arts organisation Academia Rossica together with Waterstones Piccadilly, SLOVO brings together some of Russia’s most prominent authors and journalists, as well as other influential writers on the country.
Notable participants in the festival include author Boris Akunin, known chiefly for detective and historical fiction, who will speak about his upcoming project in a talk entitled “New Literary Games”, while British writer and journalist Owen Hatherley will present Landscapes of Communism, an insightful study of Eastern bloc architecture. In addition, Peter Pomerantsev is set to speak on his book on 21st century Russia, Nothing Is True and Everything Is Possible. The full programme of events is available on the SLOVO website.
