Romanian screenwriter Lucian Ciuchita has filed a criminal complaint against five Hollywood production companies, two directors and two screenwriters.

Mr Ciuchita accuses the companies and individuals of stealing his script and ideas. He claims that Escape Plan (2013), which features Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, is based on a script he sent to Hollywood a few years ago.

Prosecutors in Romania have begun an investigation into the case, the results of which will determine whether they prosecute the producers of Escape Plan.

Mr Ciuchita believes his contribution to the film should be recognised and that he is entitled to a screenwriting credit and the appropriate compensation, which he claims should total around US$10 million.
