Russian company Caviar has launched a collection of Apple Watches dedicated to particular periods of Russian history.

The brand has released three designs: “Empire”, “USSR” and “Contemporary”. The first model pays homage to Peter I, the second to Vladimir Lenin, and the third to Preisdent Vladimir Putin.

The gold body of the “Contemporary” design is engraved with Mr Putin’s signature and an impression of the Moscow skyline. According to the company website, his name and signature stand “as a guarantor of stability, confidence, and loyalty to his ideals”.

The patriotic Apple Watches range from 192,000 rubles (US$2,992) to 197,000 rubles (US$3,069), depending on the watch strap chosen.

In spring last year, Caviar released a gold-plated iPhone 6 adorned with a portrait of Mr Putin and another with Andrei Rublev’s famous icon Trinity.
