SLOVO Russian literature festival opens in London this weekend

SLOVO Russian literature festival will open tomorrow in Waterstones bookshop on London’s Piccadilly. Now in its sixth year, the week-long festival will present work from some of Russia’s best-known contemporary writers, including Boris Grebenshikov, Vladimir Sorokin and Sasha Filipenko. The festival, which will feature events in Russian and English, will include talks by renowned Russian journalist Leonid Parfenov and science fiction writer Dmitry Glukhovsky, and will be opened by award-winning writer Boris Akunin on Saturday.
