Ukrainian fashion designer Anton Belinskiy is among the 26 designers shortlisted for the annual LVMH Prize, an award that gives one successful young designer €300,000 and the opportunity to spend a year working under the mentorship of LVMH industry professionals.
The growing importance of luxury streetwear and menswear has been reflected in the shortlist, with luxury streetwear brands Astrid Anderson and Nasir Mazhar and seven menswear brands making the list.
The 26 shortlisted designers are now set to travel to Paris, where their collections will be shown to a panel of 45 industry experts, including editor-in-chief of Vogue China Angelica Cheung, fashion critic Cathy Horyn and senior vice president of Bergdorf Goodman, Linda Fargo. Eight finalists will then be selected by the jury.
Last year, Canadian designer Thomas Tait won the award, and will show his Autumn-Winter 2015 ready-to-wear collection at London Fashion Week today.
