Elena Subach

Born in Chervonohrad, western Ukraine, Elena Subach currently lives and works in Lviv, and has exhibited her work across Ukraine. Returning to provincial Galicia over the years, Subach has been struck by how little village life has changed. In The Sacrifice, the photographer disrupts the monotony of everyday life with absurd and nonsensical moments that reveal an unexpected side of rural Ukraine.
