Octabrain

With offices split between St Petersburg and San Francisco, Octabrain, founded by Artem Baranov and Yuri Lobyntsev, manufactures a dizzying array of mobile apps and innovative media products. One of the apps created by Yuri, The Village Parking helps identify inappropriately parked cars and was awarded a Golden Lion at the prestigious advertising festival in Cannes. Together with Mikhail Brusov, Baranov and Lobyntsev recently developed Vote — a game where players are challenged to predict the outcome of actual political events. The app taps in the wisdom of the crowd using mathematical algorithms and on the average is 70% more accurate than most expert forecasts.
