Möbelkunst

Inside an industrial yard in the developing IX District, Möbelkunst is an Aladdin’s Cave for serious collectors or interior designers in search of unique and vintage pieces from the period spanning the 1940s to 1980s — with an emphasis on Hungarian and Scandinavian designers. Möbelkunst’s András Fugerth loves the duality of a city “split in two by the Danube”, and that the hills are within easy reach of the city’s great party places. For something alternative, he recommends sunning yourself on the rooftop of the Lukács Baths, cycling through the industrial area around the former Csepel Művek or strolling the empty Buda Castle in the late hours. “I fell in love with the outskirts of the city,” he says, “lots of hidden treasures no one really values — yet”.
