For this project, Dmytrij Wulffius photographed the cityscape of his hometown, Yalta, on the coast of Crimea. Traces on Concrete, unlike other books of architectural photography, is also a meditation on being young. Against the permanence of concrete, the fleeting years of youth make for an arresting contrast. The photos of early 1980s brutalist buildings are romantic at times but, as this book proves, his perspective is original from beginning to end.
